Travelling to Vienna

Vienna International Airport is located 13 kilometres south east of Vienna.

The City Airport Train (CAT) (www.cityairporttrain.com) is the fastes service between the airport and the city centre ( “Wien Mitte”). It runs every 30 minutes and takes 16 minutes. Tickets may be purchased online, from ticket machines at the airport/ station or on board  (EUR 12.00 single or EUR 19.00 return). Another option is taking the Airport Lines Bus from the airport to the city center ("Schwedenplatz"). It runs every 30 minutes and takes 20 minutes (EUR 8.00 single or EUR 13.00 return) . For a cheaper option take the S-Bahn S7 from the airpot to the city centre ("Wien Mitte"). It runs every 30 minutes and takes 24 minutes (EUR 3,60 single ticket). Going by airport cab will cost around EUR 30.

Vienna is furthermore very well connected to other European capitals by train. For more information check Austria's rail service ÖBB.

Visitors from some countries will need a visa to enter Austria. Official information is provided by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Travelling in Vienna

Vienna has an effective and inexpensive public transport system (underground trains, buses and trams). It is possible to book a 48h or 72h ticket at our online registration form for EUR 11,70 or EUR 14,50. Tickets will be handed out at the registration desk at the beginnig of the conference.
